About CHRF

Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to scientific research, advancing scientific knowledge and promoting science education among diverse audiences. CHRF is registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau and was founded in 2007 by a multidisciplinary research group, we operate with the core mission to improve child health by facilitating appropriate policy decisions on treatment and prevention of infectious diseases through quality research and advocacy using available resources. We conduct research in four hospitals (Bangladesh Shishu Hospital & Institute, Dr. MR Khan Shishu hospital, Chittagong Ma-O-Shishu Hospital, and Kumudini Women’s Medical College) and five microbiology laboratories around the country. We collaborate with different international organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Health Organization, Edinburgh University, Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, Centre for Disease Control, etc.  

We invite applications for the position of “Manager (Finance)” to join our Finance Team.

Required Candidate Profile

  • Successful completion of professional certification such as Certified Chartered Accountant (ACA/FCA) or MBA (accounting/finance) from any reputed university
  • Proven proficiency in financial management in relevant field, with minimum 5 years of experience
  • Strong proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis
  • Excellent computer operating skills including MS Office packages, accounting software
  • Excellent organizational and time management Skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
  • Good command of writing skills both in Bangla and English

Salary

Negotiable depending on the experience and/or qualifications of the candidate + festival bonuses & Provident fund.

Role

  • Assist in all aspects of financial management and operations as directed
  • Conduct financial analysis, trend analysis, and data interpretation to provide insights and recommendations to the management team
  • Assis in developing organizational/project budgets and financial plans and support in monitoring budget execution & advise on financial strategies to achieve financial goals
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of transactions are incorporated into the accounting software and assist in execution of other transactional tasks
  • Assist in preparing comprehensive financial reports on a regular basis, including bank reconciliation statements, receipt and payment statements, and budget variance analysis
  • Help manage the cheque issue register, cash book, and petty cash management, and ensure proper controls are in place
  • Maintain communication and coordination with relevant government bodies, such as NGOAB, DC office, NBR, and others, as required by the organization
  • Assist in the preparation of reports required by regulatory bodies, such as FD6, FD2, FC1, and other reports as per NGOAB's requirements
  • Provide support for program activities, including logistical and procurement support
  • Accompany the Finance team on visits to project areas to provide financial support, monitor activities, and assist in financial supervision
  • Assist in updating the fixed asset register, overseeing depreciation calculations, and ensuring proper records are maintained
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and addressing audit findings
  • Help prepare and submit donor reports in compliance with grant guidelines, working closely with the Finance Team to maintain positive donor relationships through accurate reporting
  • Stay updated on financial regulations and industry best practices to increase financial efficiency and accuracy
