Job Description

The Child health Research Foundation (CHRF) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to scientific research, advancing scientific knowledge and promoting science education among diverse audiences. CHRF is registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau and was founded in 2007 by a multidisciplinary research group, we operate with the core mission to improve child health by facilitating appropriate policy decisions on the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases, through quality research and advocacy using available resources. We conduct research in four hospitals (Dhaka Shishu Hospital, Dr. MR Khan Shishu hospital, Chittagong Ma-O-Shishu Hospital, and Kumudini Women’s Medical College) and five microbiology laboratories around the country. We collaborate with different international organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Health Organization, Edinburgh University, Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, Centre for Disease Control, etc.

CHRF is expanding its data science team and seeking a highly skilled and motivated Junior Data Scientist, Data Scientist and a Senior Data Scientist to join our dynamic team. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in analyzing large datasets, developing predictive models, and generating actionable insights to drive data-informed decisions. You will collaborate with crossfunctional teams to solve complex business problems and contribute to the company's growth and success.

Required Candidate Profile

Junior Data Scientist:

At least a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of statistics, data mining, and machine learning techniques.

Basic knowledge in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Data Scientist :

At least a Masters degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role for at least 1 year.

Strong knowledge of statistics, data mining, and machine learning techniques.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience with big data frameworks is a plus.

Senior Data Scientist:

At least a Masters degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Data Scientist or in a similar role for at least 4 years.

Strong knowledge of statistics, data mining, and machine learning techniques.

Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.

Experience with data visualization tools and libraries (e.g., Tableau, Matplotlib, ggplot).

Solid understanding of SQL and database management systems.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.

Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Experience with big data frameworks is a plus.

 

Salary

Junior Data Scientist – 35,000 – 45,000 (negotiable based on experience) + festival bonuses Data Scientist – 45,000 – 60,000 (negotiable based on experience) + festival bonuses Senior Data Scientist – 60,000 – 80,000 (negotiable based on experience) + festival bonuses

Role

Junior Data Scientist, Data Scientist and Senior Data Scientist will be part of our Data Science team, who collaborate to conduct the following:

Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets from various sources.

Apply statistical analysis and data mining techniques to identify trends, patterns, and correlations within the data.

Develop and implement machine learning algorithms and predictive models to solve business problems.

Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into analytical solutions.

Present findings and insights to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Continuously monitor and evaluate model performance, making necessary adjustments and improvements as needed.

Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science and bring innovative ideas to enhance existing processes.

Collaborate with the data engineering team to ensure the availability and integrity of data.
