Job Description

The Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to scientific research, advancing scientific knowledge and promoting science education among diverse audiences. CHRF is registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau and was founded in 2007 by a multidisciplinary research group, we operate with the core mission to improve child health by facilitating appropriate policy decisions on the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases, through quality research and advocacy using available resources. We conduct research in four hospitals (Dhaka Shishu Hospital, Dr. MR Khan Shishu hospital, Chittagong Ma-O-Shishu Hospital, and Kumudini Women’s Medical College) and five microbiology laboratories around the country. We collaborate with different international organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Health Organization, Edinburgh University, Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, Centre for Disease Control, etc.

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Executive Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with leading scientists in the field, collaborate with the administrative team, and contribute to the execution of the "Building Scientists for Bangladesh" program.

Required Candidate Profile

  1. At least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., business administration, social sciences, or related disciplines) 2.
  2. Proven experience as an executive assistant or in a similar role, preferably in a scientific or research-oriented environment.
  3. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels.
  5. Proficient in using office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and comfortable with learning new software and tools.
  6. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all work performed.
  7. Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  8. Professionalism, integrity, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  9. Knowledge or interest in the field of scientific research and community health would be an asset.
  10. Fluency in both English and Bengali languages is required.

Salary

Starting from 45,000 BDT per month (negotiable based on experience) + festival bonuses & provident fund

Role

  1. Provide comprehensive administrative support to leading scientists, including managing their calendar, scheduling appointments, and arranging meetings.
  2. Collaborate with the administrative team to ensure smooth operation of daily tasks and efficient communication within the organization. 
  3. Assist in the execution of the "Building Scientists for Bangladesh" program, including coordinating workshops, seminars, and training sessions.
  4. Maintain accurate records and databases related to the program's activities, participants, and progress.
  5. Prepare and distribute relevant documents, reports, and correspondence as required.
  6. Coordinate travel arrangements and logistics for the leading scientist, including booking flights, accommodations, and transportation.
  7. Manage incoming communications, such as emails, phone calls, and inquiries, and provide timely responses or redirect them to the appropriate person or department.
  8. Assist in organizing and managing special projects and events related to the scientist's research and the organization's initiatives.
  9. Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  10. Perform other administrative tasks and duties as assigned by the supervisor.
