 About CHRF

Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to scientific research, advancing scientific knowledge and promoting science education among diverse audiences. CHRF is registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau and was founded in 2007 by a multidisciplinary research group, we operate with the core mission to improve child health by facilitating appropriate policy decisions on treatment and prevention of infectious diseases through quality research and advocacy using available resources. We conduct research in four hospitals (Bangladesh Shishu Hospital & Institute, Dr. MR Khan Shishu hospital, Chittagong Ma-O-Shishu Hospital, and Kumudini Women’s Medical College) and five microbiology laboratories around the country. We collaborate with different international organizations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, World Health Organization, Edinburgh University, Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, Centre for Disease Control, etc.  

We invite applications for the position of “Senior Manager (Finance)” to join our Finance Team.

Required Candidate Profile

  • Successful completion of professional certification such as Certified Chartered Accountant (ACA/FCA) or MBA (accounting/finance) from any reputed university
  • Proven proficiency in financial management in relevant field, with minimum 7 years of experience
  • Strong proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and financial analysis
  • Excellent computer operating skills including MS Office packages, accounting software
  • Excellent organizational and time management Skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities
  • Good command of writing skills both in Bangla and English

Salary

Negotiable depending on the experience and/or qualifications of the candidate + festival bonuses & Provident fund.

Role

  • Working closely with the organizational heads to provide executive support on need basis
  • Oversee and manage all financial transactions, including bill/voucher maintenance and preparation of debit/credit/journal vouchers
  • Conduct different trend analysis & financial analysis to support management team in decision-making and identify opportunities for cost optimization and revenue enhancement
  • Develop organizational/project budgets and financial plans and monitor budget execution & advise on financial strategies to achieve financial goals
  • Ensure accurate and timely entry of transactions are incorporated into the accounting software and supervise & guide the finance team in executing other transactional tasks
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports on a monthly basis for management, including bank reconciliation statements, receipt and payment statements, and budget variance analysis
  • Monitor and manage the cheque issue register, cash book, and petty cash management
  • Maintain constant liaison with relevant government bodies such as NGOAB, DC office, NBR, and others
  • Prepare FD6, FD2, FC1, and other reports as per NGOAB’s requirement
  • Provide logistical and procurement support to program activities as needed
  • Visit project areas to provide support, monitor financial activities, and assist in financial supervision
  • Monitor and supervise updating the fixed asset register, overseeing depreciation calculations etc.
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and address audit findings to implement recommended improvements
  • Prepare and submit donor reports in compliance with grant guidelines to maintain positive donor relationships through accurate reporting
  • Lead and mentor the finance team to adopt a collaborative work environment
  • Stay updated on financial regulations and industry best practices to increase financial efficiency and accuracy
