The "Python Essentials in Life Sciences" course is part of the 'Data Science for Women' series by the women-led data science team of CHRF. It is an intensive 6-day program designed to provide a practical and in-depth understanding of Python programming, with a special focus on its application in Life Sciences through hands-on activities, case studies, and interactive discussions.

Program Outline & Learning Objectives

  • Gain insights about programming and its importance in life sciences
  • Understand the basic terminologies of Python programming
  • Set up workspace with Google Collaboratory
  • Learn about data types, operators and data structures (list, tuple, set, dictionary) in Python
  • Delve in control structure (If-else, loop) and functions
  • Understand introductory statistical concepts
  • Develop skills in real-life data wrangling
  • Create optimized code for analyzing and visualizing biological data proficiently
  • Utilize AI tools to enhance coding capabilities in life science data analysis
  • Gain hands-on experience with exercises, take-home assignments and capstone project

No prior programming knowledge is required.
