About CHRF

 The Child Health Research Foundation (CHRF) is a leading non-profit organization dedicated to scientific research, advancing scientific knowledge and promoting science education among diverse audiences. CHRF is registered under the NGO Affairs Bureau and was founded in 2007 by a multidisciplinary research group, we operate with the core mission to improve child heath by facilitating appropriate policy decisions on the treatment and prevention of infectious diseases, through quality research and advocacy using available resources. We conduct research in four hospitals (Bangladesh Shishu Hospital and Institute, Dr. M R Khan Shishu hospital & Institute of Child Health, Chittagong Ma-O-Shishu Hospital, and Kumudini Women’s Medical College) and five microbiology laboratories around the country. We collaborate with different organizations like World Health Organization, Edinburgh University, Stanford University, Johns Hopkins University, Centre for Disease Control (CDC), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), etc.

We invite applications for the position “Microbiologist” to join our diagnostic team.

Job location: Mirzapur, Tangail, Bangladesh

Required Candidate Profile

  • BSc. and M.Sc. in Microbiology from reputed university.
  • At least 1 (one) year practical experience in the related field.
  • Excellent organizational and time management Skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with individuals at all levels.
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Good command of writing skills both in Bangla and English.

Salary

Starts at BDT 40000/= (Negotiable depending on the experience and/or qualifications of the candidate). Contributory provident fund and festival allowance (Eid/Puja/Christmas and Baishakhi)

Role

  • Processing of clinical samples from a range of sources.
  • Identifying microorganisms, using a variety of identification methods, including conventional and molecular techniques.
  • Following Good Laboratory Practice and complying with quality control in procedures.
  • Planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating new techniques and processes.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Executing basic analysis for research studies.
  • Planning and organizing resources and activities.
  • Writing research findings and preparing reports.
  • Keeping up with new research and relevant literature.
  • Liaising with colleagues from other scientific and non-scientific departments.
  • Observing and monitoring of laboratory activities.
  • Taking care of laboratory Equipment’s and Logistics.
